Events

The Ethics Lab runs events where students stop reading about AI and start arguing with it: hackathons, workshops, and sessions with the people building and regulating these systems. They are free, they are run by students, and they are designed for someone who has never touched this before.

  • Free to attend

Every event we run is free. No ticket, no fee, no school budget required.

  • Built for beginners

You do not need to code, and you do not need to have read a paper on AI policy. Showing up curious is the only prerequisite.

  • Students decide

Our events are shaped by the people attending them, down to voting on what gets built.

Hackathon

The AI Ethics Hackathon

One weekend. Teams of up to four. You pick a problem AI is making worse and you build something that pushes back.

The challenge itself is on a public ballot, so the people attending choose what everyone builds. You can vote and reserve a spot now, before the date is locked in.

That is the honest answer: the hackathon is the only one-off event on the books right now, and its date is still being set. We would rather show you one real thing than a page of placeholders.

Our recurring programming does keep running in the meantime. Workshops, student-run AI Days, speaker events, and live curriculum sessions are all published on the calendar as they are confirmed, so that is the page to check if you want something sooner.
